Tl;dr:
Casey cares deeply about a whole, healthy, and historically rooted faith, favoring the early church fathers and mothers over the European reformers. He works as a licensed counselor during the week, specializing in religious and spiritual abuse, identity discovery and formation, and overcoming self-sabotage. At the heart of Casey’s life is a desire to see you come fully alive, to lift the veil of confusion, and be a source of clarity wherever he goes.
If you’re bored…
Casey is the founding overseer of Evergreen Ekklesia, a church born out of a deep hunger for something real and sacred enough to carry the full weight of life. In the summer of 2020, after a series of undeniable promptings from the Lord, he and his wife moved across the country to Colorado Springs to plant a different kind of church: one rooted in ancient faith while still being Spirit-led, and built around healing, spiritual maturity, and God’s presence.
Working in ministry and Christian education since 2009, Casey brings a rare and integrated approach to pastoring and discipleship by combining historical and theological depth with clinical mental health insight. He holds degrees in Biblical Studies, New Testament Biblical Literature (focused on the Greco-Roman world and the first-century Church), and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and is currently completing a master’s in Biblical Languages. He also teaches at Colorado Christian University and is a licensed therapist specializing in religious and spiritual abuse.
At the heart of his vision is a belief that God is better than we’ve been led to believe, and that being human is less of a problem to solve and more a mystery to be redeemed. Casey believes many of our struggles come from lies we've believed about ourselves, others, and God, and that the local Church is meant to be the place where those lies begin to lose their power.
Casey’s desire is for Evergreen to feel like home—either the one you cherished or the one you wish you did—and a space marked by peace and joy, reverence and laughter, Scripture and Spirit. Evergreen is a place where your roots can grow deep.
